The Chakras: Seven Wheels A Spinning

Episode 11 is here!

Show Description:

Do you know what your chakras are? In this episode, the EmPOWERment Couple discusses your body’s seven power centers called chakras. The chakra system is based on the Ayurvedic practice of medicine which places the ability to heal and super-charge the body, back in your hands. In other words, using the chakra system, you have the ability to heal your own body. Not only can you heal your body, but you can also strengthen it so that it is always running at its absolute best.

Bonus Episode: Guided Chakra Charging Meditation

As a bonus, we have included a free guided Chakra Charging Meditation, that when used regularly, will raise both your awareness and vibration of each chakra. When you address the source of an illness, you eliminate the symptoms of an illness.

Show Blog:

Do you know what your Chakras are? This show is all about your seven power centers that each and every one of you listening has access to. Seven wheels a spinning is in reference to the word Chakra which is Sanskrit for spinning wheel.

Let’s start with the basics. Chakra system is based in the Ayurvedic practice of medicine that places the ability to heal and super-charge the body, on the practitioner, not a doctor. In other words, using the chakra system, you have the ability to heal your own body. Not only can you heal your body, but you can also strengthen it so that it is always running at its absolute best.

Based on the Chakra system, your body is a marriage between matter, the physical body, blood and guts, and energy, the non-physical electrical current that animates your blood and guts. This marriage however has a third member, which holds everything all together, and we shall call that, your spirit, or consciousness.

Yesterday Mike was sick for the first time in a long time. Here is how he used his knowledge of Chakras to heal himself.

Mike reports back that he did everything that we’ve been teaching here on the EmPOWERment Couple podcast.

  1. He slept in his optimal sleep cave because he knows the power of healthy rest. Learn more about that in our podcast: Everybody Go Night Night episode here.
  2. He practiced the guided body scan meditation we released as a bonus episode last month here.
  3. He drank our recipe for ginger and turmeric tea that you can get right here.
  4. He took organic supplements, namely enzymes and probiotics from Truvani.
  5. He repeated mantras, you can view some of those here.
  6. He used all of the prevention methods we discuss in the episode Practicing Prevention here.
  7. He used the bonus episode Chakra Charging Meditation at the top of this blog.
  8. He then followed the next day with a modified b.r.a.t. diet which is bananas, rice, bread and apple sauce. Then he had some rice pasta in some organic bone broth. We have a recipe for organic bone broth that you can make in an Instant Pot right here.
  9. He also practiced a restorative yoga sequence to help him sleep both days that we have provided here.

Here is what Zuri practiced to prevent catching Mikey’s bug.

  1. She used lymphasizing to boost her immunity, learn more about that in this podcast.
  2. She prepared an Immunity kick shot and took that twice throughout the day. Get that recipe here.
  3. She practiced distancing herself from the bedroom for the day and night.
  4. She meditated.
  5. She practiced laughing using the laughter medicine podcast.

So back to the seven wheels a spinnin’. There are hundreds of spinning wheels of electricity that emanate from and run through every organ, joint, muscle, nerve, bone…everything. Every process that your body does, creates, or uses energy. There are 7 major energy vortexes or spinning wheels throughout your body. Each of these energy vortexes is called a Chakra,

The Number Seven:

The number seven symbolizes several positive and valuable things in our universe. Some numerologist even believes that number seven is so perfect and powerful that it represents a connection to the universe. For example, when we look at nature, did you know that the seven colors of the rainbow are the same colors of the chakra system? And they are in the same order. Nature is literally showing you alignment. Mathematical patterns in music give 7 a special role, for there are seven distinct notes in the musical scale—corresponding roughly to the white notes on a piano. Of course, you know there are 7 days in the week. In religion, there are seven deadly sins: pride, envy, gluttony, greed, lust, sloth, and wrath. Along with seven virtues: humility, chastity, kindness, patience, abstinence, diligence, and liberality.

Did you know there are also seven seas? The Aegean, Adriatic, Mediterranean, Black, Red, and Caspian seas, with the Persian Gulf thrown in as a “sea.” How many of those have you swum in? Magic number 7 (plus or minus two) provides evidence for the capacity of short term memory. Most adults can store between 5 and 9 items in their short-term memory. This idea was put forward by Miller (1956) and he called it the magic number 7. He thought that short term memory could hold 7 (plus or minus 2 items) because it only had a certain number of “slots” in which items could be stored. But, this show is just about a number it’s about your seven power centers, also known as the chakras.

Each chakra has a specific point of the body, governs its own organs and lymph nodes, is associated with its own color and sound. Each chakra has the ability to be open or closed and can be hyperactive, or hypoactive. Each chakra has its own consciousness and therefore is energetically operating your life, whether or not you are conscious of it.

That means, that if you are aware of how your chakras are doing at any point of the day, you can and will control how your day is going. A firm understanding of the chakra system, paired with adequate lifestyle changes, and you will have the ability to:

  1. Lose weight
  2. Slow the aging process
  3. Attract abundance
  4.  Increase sex drive
  5. Feel connected to the universe
  6. Shatter emotional, spiritual and physical restraints

So here is the question of the hour, if you could do all that by yourself, why isn’t everyone doing it?

The simplest answer is…conditioning. If everyone knew how to make their bodies, and mind’s run properly, then the current multi-billion dollar healthcare industry would never have enough patience to create their multi-billion money-making machine. We have been conditioned to treat an illness or symptom with a pill. However, to cure whatever illness or symptom you have, you need to address the source. And once again, enter the chakra system.

The Chakra System:

Now, imagine there being a straight line going from the top of your head, down to the tip of your spine. Your chakras will fall into alignment down this line beginning with your crown chakra, and ending in your root chakra.

The Root Chakra:

Beginning with your base, the Root Chakra is your first chakra and is located just above your perineal. Its color is red, so imagine your root chakra as a spinning wheel of red energy. This energy is your survival consciousness. The root chakra is focused on making you safe. Each chakra carries one or more of the five elements, earth, air, fire, water, and space The root chakra’s element is earth.

The Sacral Chakra:

The second chakra is your Sacral Chakra. It is located 1-2 inches below your belly button. Its color is orange, so imagine your sacral chakra as a spinning wheel of orange energy. This energy is your creative consciousness. The sacral chakra is focused on making you satisfied. Sacral chakra’s element is water.

The Solar Plexus Chakra:

The third chakra is your Solar Plexus Chakra and is located behind your sternum. Its color is yellow, like the sun, so imagine your solar plexus chakra as a spinning wheel of yellow energy. This energy is your power consciousness. This solar plexus chakra is focused on will and drive. The solar plexus chakra’s element is fire.

The Heart Chakra:

The fourth chakra is your Heart Chakra and is located adjacent to your heart and in alignment with your spine. Its color is green, so imagine your heart chakra as a spinning wheel of green energy.
This energy is your love-consciousness
The heart chakra is focused on giving and receiving love from others and from yourself.
The heart chakra’s element is air

Throat Chakra:

The fifth chakra is your throat chakra and is located in your neck just below your voice box. Its color is blue, so imagine your throat chakra as a spinning wheel of blue energy. This energy is your self-expression consciousness. The throat chakra is focused on communication with others and with yourself. The throat chakra’s element is sound or ether.

Third Eye Chakra:

The Sixth Chakra is your third eye chakra and is located above your eyes, just between your eyebrows.
Its color is indigo, so imagine that your third eye chakra as a spinning wheel of indigo energy. This energy is your self-awareness consciousness. The third eye chakra is focused on intuition, imagination, and manifesting. Its element is light.

Crown Chakra:

The seventh chakra is your crown chakra and is located on the top of your head. Its color varies between a deep purple, and pure white so imagine your crown chakra as a spinning ball of purple or white energy. This energy is your Devine awareness consciousness
The crown chakra is focused on connecting us to our higher self
Element is thought

Simplified For Memory:

Keep It Simple Stupid or KISS for short. KISS is a design principle which states that designs and/or systems should be as simple as possible. Wherever possible, complexity should be avoided in a system—as simplicity guarantees the greatest levels of user acceptance and interaction. To better understand the Chakra system consider using this KISS formula that we created to help you master the Chakra system.

1. Root Chakra: Safety
Blocked by fear

2. Sacral Chakra: Satisfaction
Blocked by guilt

3. Solar Plexus Chakra: Steadiness
Blocked by shame

4. Heart: Love
Blocked by grief

5. Throat Chakra: Communication
Blocked by lies (or the lie you tell yourself)

6. Third Eye: Consciousness
Blocked by attachment

7. Crown Chakra: Connection
Blocked by the other chakras being out of alignment

So in short if you can remember safety, satisfaction, steadiness, love, communication, consciousness, and connection while pointing to those areas on your body, that will help you find alignment, it’s also helpful to understand what has blocked them.

Hyperactive and Hypoactive Chakras:

As stated before, each chakra has its own purpose, however, they work in harmony with one another. Therefore, if one is out of balance, it will cause the other six chakras to either be hypoactive, or hyperactive. Imbalance, balanced, alignment, out of alignment, we can use these words to describe the positive and negative positioning of your chakras. So hyperactive means excessive energy and it will present as agitated, aggressive, reactive with an outward flow of energy. Hypoactive or deficient energy presents as sluggish, passive, reactive with an inward flow of energy.

Let’s look at how each chakra functions when it is both balanced and out of balance. By using this approach, we can determine the source of a problem. Remedy the source of illness and you eliminate the symptoms of illness.

Beginning with the root chakra and working our way up to the crown chakra, the root chakra focuses on safety, such as food and shelter.

A hyperactive root chakra will generate the tendency to hoard, lead to becoming a workaholic, and experience greed and anger.

A hypoactive root chakra will generate the tendency to withdraw, become overly suspicious, and experience anxiety.

When your root chakra is balanced, you will feel grounded and calm despite the circumstances you are experiencing. You will trust in yourself that you will be able to work with the universe to manifest whatever you need to keep you and your family safe.

Physical symptoms that your root chakra is out of balance include:

  • Anorexia
  • Obesity
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Auto-immune diseases
  • Arthritis
  • Fatigue
  • Disorders of the kidney
  • Disorders of the spine

The sacral chakra focuses on satisfaction to include sexual satisfaction, which is why this chakra governs the reproductive organs and the satisfaction that we get from eating, which is why this chakra also governs part of our digestive system.

A hyperactive sacral chakra will generate the tendency to be codependent, have explosive emotions and sexual addictions.

A hypoactive sacral chakra will generate the tendency to become detached, emotionally cold, and sexually frigid.

A balanced Sacral chakra will allow you to feel comfortable in your own skin. You will experience satisfaction without the need to overindulge or abstain. In tandem with satisfaction will be an increase in your creative output.

Physical symptoms that your sacral chakra is out of balance include:

  • Bladder problems
  • Frigidity
  • Gall and kidney stones
  • Disorders of the reproductive organs
  • Vaginal or prostate cancer

The Solar Plexus chakra focuses on your personal power which is why this chakra governs your adrenal glands, and your stomach, all of which contribute to your body’s energetic needs. The muscle groups of the solar plexus also operate the lungs.

A hyperactive solar plexus will generate the tendency to be controlling, egotistic, and prone to addictions that generate feelings of numbness such as alcohol.

A hypoactive solar plexus will generate the tendency to feel flat or fatigue, have low self-esteem and low will power and will experience lack and limitation.

A balanced solar plexus chakra will allow you to feel strong, confident, and determined. Problems will be viewed as challenges that once overcome will allow you to grow stronger. You will be able to establish healthy boundaries for others and for yourself.

Physical symptoms that your solar plexus is out of balance include:

  • Diabetes
  • Disorders of the digestive organs
  • Hypoglycemia
  • Adrenal issues

The heart chakra focuses on your ability to give and receive love. This applies to the love you give and receive from others, as well as the love you give and receive from yourself. The chakra governs the heart and the lungs, both responsible for every second of life we are gifted.

A hyperactive heart chakra will generate the tendency to be clingy, smothering and will adopt the role of the martyr in your relationships.

A hypoactive heart chakra will produce anxiety, lead toward isolation, and generate self-critical thoughts.

A balanced heart chakra will lace all of your relationships with acceptance and love and you will enjoy self-love despite your current relationship with others.

Physical symptoms that your heart chakra is out of balance include:

  • Cancer
  • High blood pressure
  • Disorders of the heart and lungs
  • Disorders of the thymus gland
  • Disorders of the blood
  • Disorders of the circulatory system

The throat chakra focuses on your ability to communicate and express yourself. Because this chakra controls the voice box located in our neck, this applies to the words you speak, write, or sing as well as any artistic expression such as sculpting or painting.

A hyperactive throat chakra will manifest hostility, stubbornness and a tendency to be socially overbearing. If you find yourself yelling or screaming to get your point across, you are functioning out of a hyperactive throat chakra.

A hypoactive throat chakra will cause you to have an inability to express your thoughts and feelings due to a speech impediment or feeling as if your voice will not be heard.

A balanced throat chakra is neither passive, or aggressive, but assertive. You will be open, honest and unafraid to speak your truth. This honesty applies to relationships with others and with yourself.

Physical symptoms of an unbalanced throat chakra include:

  • Asthma
  • Neck problems
  • Disorders of the thyroid gland
  • Disorders of the throat including vocal cowards
  • Disorders of the eyes and ears

The third eye chakra focuses on your ability to be aware of who you are and where you want to go. Because this chakra controls your pineal gland, responsible for regulating your sleep cycles, this chakra makes sure that your entire being is properly regulated.

A hyperactive third eye chakra leads to narrow-mindedness, cynicism, and arrogance.

A hypoactive third eye chakra will lead to mental confusion, feeling ungrounded, and lost in a dream state.

A balanced third eye chakra will give you the gift of foresight, know the difference between truth and illusion, and a deep understanding and connectivity to your inner world and the outer world.

Physical symptoms of an unbalanced third eye chakra include:

  • Glaucoma
  • Headaches
  • Neurological disorders
  • Sleep disorders
  • Central nervous system issues

The crown chakra is known as the seat of your soul and focuses on connecting you with the Divine source. Regardless of the name you give to the source, it is through the crown chakra that information, insight, and guidance is given.

A hyperactive crown chakra will cause you to become egotistical, greedy, and suffer from mental confusion.

A hypoactive crown chakra will lead to loneliness, chronic fatigue, and apathy.

A balanced crown chakra will grant you the joy of inner peace and emotional and mental clarity. You will feel connected to the natural world, with the people around you, and connected with the six chakras below it.

Physical symptoms of an unbalanced crown chakra include:

  • Exhaustion
  • Epilepsy
  • Headaches
  • Disorders associated with an unbalanced pituitary gland

Balancing the chakra system is relatively easy to do. The first step is to familiarize yourself with how the chakras work and where your imbalances are. We will produce a follow-up episode where we dive into the healing practices you can do at home to self regulate your energy centers. We will talk about how to use color therapy, reiki, aromatherapy, yoga, food, music, crystals, stones, gems and various forms of exercise to raise your vibration, balance your chakras, and empower you to be the most beautiful version of you. But as a bonus episode this week, Mike is providing you with a short 15-minute guided meditation. If you’re new to meditation a guided meditation will help you get started and meditation is one of the most effective methods for balancing the chakras.
