Organic Fire Cider Recipe

It’s flu season so our family tradition is to make fire cider and share with friends, family, and our loving community. Today we are making organic fire cider to share with neighbors and boost our community’s immunity. We are only as strong as our weakest member and fire cider is one of the best prevention hacks to staying healthy all year long. Let’s all build each other up! If you’re new to this immune-boosting aid, here are the benefits:

  • Horseradish has been found to prevent cancer, strengthen your immune system, treat urinary tract infections, sinus infections. relieve pain and inflammation, regulate your blood pressure, aid in oral health, and digestion.
  • Fire cider contains a good amount of garlic which is an antioxidant that helps regulate blood pressure and is said to stave off bladder and kidney infections, yeast infections, strep throat, and ear infections. Garlic has also been found to lower cholesterol, reduce the risk of heart disease, stave off colds and flu, aid in athletic performance, stronger bones, improved memory and skin.
  • Onion has potent anti-inflammatory properties and may also help reduce high blood pressure and protect against blood clots. They’ve been found to help fight yeast infections, colds, flus, and viruses. Onions are an excellent source of antioxidants. In fact, they contain over 25 different varieties of flavonoid antioxidants. Onions also contain fisetin and quercetin, flavonoid antioxidants that may inhibit tumor growth.

Serving: 4 servings

Ingredients:

1 organic large horseradish

1 organic large turmeric root

1 organic large hand of ginger

1 organic onion

2 organic jalapeño peppers

3 heads of organic garlic

1 teaspoon of ground cayenne

Instructions:

First, you’ll grate the horseradish and ginger. Then chop the onions and jalapeño and have a good cry. Next you’ll press the three heads of garlic and sprinkle in the teaspoon of ground cayenne. Put all the ingredients into a large glass jar. Then pour organic apple cider vinegar over the ingredients in the glass jar until it reaches 1 inch from the top. Put the lid on firmly and shake once a day for a week or daily if you’re a rockstar. Place the jar in a cool dark place. Ideally, you want to let it sit for six straight weeks to get the best most potent fire cider. After the six weeks are up, strain the cider and keep the liquid in a tightly lidded container in the refrigerator. Fire cider will last up to 6 months in the refrigerator.
