Organic Energy Zone Smoothie
We featured this smoothie recipe on our latest podcast: Practicing Prevention For A Deliciously New Decade.
Catch the funny video of us playing the “Mystery Smoothie” game where I make a delicious new smoothie recipe and Mike has to guess what I put in it by sipping and smelling the curious concoction.
You might be wondering why bok choy? Bok choy is an antioxidant superhero packed with fiber and vitamins, which help reduce LDL cholesterol and protect against breast, colon, and prostate cancers. What you won’t see in the video is that he actually drank the full sixteen ounces of the smoothie and asked for a similar one the following day minus the bok choy, so I swapped it for kale. Here is the recipe below and if you haven’t tuned into our weekly episodes please do so and share with your community.
Creator: I Am Zuri
Prep Time: 2 minute
Total Time: 4 minute
Serving: 1 serving
Ingredients:
1/2 cup frozen organic pineapple
A small handful of organic bok choy greens
1 organic banana
1/2 tablespoon spirulina
1/2 tablespoon organic moringa powder
1/2 cup organic almond milk
1 tablespoon Nutiva hemp protein powder
1 teaspoon organic chia seeds
Instructions:
Place all items in your blender and blend until smooth. The key to getting the powders to blend is to put them in with the liquid at the center of the blender. You can add a bit of water or almond milk to make the smoothie less thick or add 1/4 of avocado to make it extra creamy. If you don’t have bok choy you can swap for kale or spinach. To boost energy with clean caffeine, you can add a scoop of matcha powder to this recipe. To make it sweeter add a date but pineapple and banana make this smoothie sweet as is. Taste before you add anything extra.
