This is my go to snack during my “Netflix and Chill” nights due to how quick and healthy this snack is! First, grab your pot and skillet. With the pot, place on high heat and cover the bottom with ½ of coconut oil. Take three popcorn kernels and toss them in. These are the testers and once they pop, the popcorn is ready to pop! This may take a few minutes so while you are waiting, grab your skillet, place on medium heat and melt your butter. If your butter is sizzling, it is too hot and you could be reducing its nutritional level. Once your tester kernels have popped, cover the bottom of the pot with a thin layer of popcorn. You should not see the bottom of the pan, yet each kernel is in contact with the heated oil. Cover and wait. I like to watch the top of the pan lift off as the popcorn expands. Listen carefully, once the popping has slowed down, remove from heat and allow the last few to pop. Once finished, dump into bowl and get your brewer’s yeast ready. After years of practice, I have developed a sound method to deliver a tasty bite of popcorn, butter and brewer’s yeast with every greedy handful. The steps are easy, pour some butter, shake on some brewer’s yeast and stir. Repeat this process until your butter is gone. Now sit, gorge, and enjoy the culinary delights of such a healthy snack.
