Organic Turmeric and Ginger Rice

Ingredients
2 cups organic long-grain Basmati rice
4 cups of filtered water
2 teaspoons Himalayan salt
2 organic cardamom pods
One organic cinnamon stick
3 Tablespoons organic coconut oil (or ghee if you have it)
1/2 teaspoon organic mustard seeds or ground mustard seed
1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
1/4 teaspoon chili flakes
1 medium onion, chopped
3 chopped garlic cloves
1/4 teaspoon turmeric
1/4 teaspoon ginger
Instructions:
- Cook rice as usual.
- Sauté mustard seeds, cinnamon stick, cumin, cardamom, chili flakes, and onion with coconut oil in a pan large enough to hold the spices, onions, and rice once finished. Cook mixture until onions are caramelized with the spices.
- Remove cinnamon stick and stir finished rice in the mixture.
